1

Park safely

Pull off the road on level ground. Apply the handbrake, turn on hazards, and place a warning triangle if you have one.

💡 Never change a tyre on a motorway hard shoulder — call breakdown cover.

2

Gather tools

Locate the spare tyre, jack, and wheel wrench. Check the spare is inflated.

3

Loosen wheel nuts

Before jacking, loosen each nut half a turn while the wheel is on the ground.

💡 Turn counter-clockwise. Use your foot on the wrench if stuck.

4

Jack up the car

Place the jack on the reinforced jacking point. Raise until the flat tyre clears the ground.

💡 Never put hands or legs under the car.

5

Swap the wheel

Remove nuts, pull off the flat, mount the spare, hand-tighten nuts in a star pattern.

6

Lower and tighten

Lower the jack, then fully tighten nuts with the wrench. Check pressure when possible.

💡 Drive slowly to a garage to torque the nuts properly.
