How to Clean a Car Interior Properly

Start by removing all personal items from your car, including floor mats, trash, and any belongings. This will give you a clear space to work and ensure you don't miss any areas during the cleaning process.

Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to thoroughly vacuum the seats, carpets, and floor mats. Pay special attention to crevices and under the seats where dirt tends to accumulate.

Spray an all-purpose cleaner onto a microfiber cloth and wipe down the dashboard, console, and any plastic surfaces. Avoid spraying directly onto surfaces to prevent damage.

For fabric seats, use a fabric cleaner and a soft brush to scrub away stains. If you have leather seats, apply a leather cleaner and conditioner to keep them supple and prevent cracking.

Use a glass cleaner and a clean microfiber cloth to clean the inside of the windows. Make sure to clean both the front and rear windshields, as well as the side windows for clear visibility.

Shake out the floor mats to remove loose dirt and debris. If they are rubber, wash them with soap and water; if they are fabric, vacuum and spot clean as needed.

To eliminate any lingering odours, sprinkle baking soda on the carpets and seats. Let it sit for a few hours before vacuuming it up. This will help absorb unwanted smells.

Once everything is cleaned, replace the floor mats and any items you removed. Consider using an air freshener to keep your car smelling fresh.
